Pope Recognizes Second Miracle Attributed to Blessed Carlo Acutis

Canonization Process Advances for Young Blessed

Rome Newsroom, May 23, 2024 (CNA) - Pope Francis on Thursday recognized the second miracle needed for the canonization of Italian Blessed Carlo Acutis, who died of leukemia in 2006 at the age of 15.

Miracle Attributed to Blessed Carlo Acutis

The miracle recognized on Thursday is related to a woman from Costa Rica who was suffering from a serious and persistent illness. After praying for the intercession of Acutis, the woman was reportedly healed.

Carlo's Life: A Model of Using the Internet for Good

Acutis, who is often called the "patron saint of the internet," was known for his deep faith and love for the Eucharist. He spent much of his short life using the internet to spread the Gospel and promote Christian values. His life is a reminder that technology can be used for good to build up the Kingdom of God.

With the recognition of the second miracle, Acutis' canonization process is now complete. He is expected to be canonized as a saint by the end of the year.
